This week I worked on my object to art project some more. I started paper macheing the ears I cut out and made a trunk and tusks to also start paper macheing. I am using glue and water instead of flour and water because the I think the glue and water is easier to work with

This week I have finally found an idea for my object to art project. I am turning an old clock into an elephant using paper mache.
This week I’ve had some artists block and I can’t think of what to do for the object to art project. I found a clock to use but I’m still not sure what to turn it into and how to do it. I’m also waiting to use wood pieces for the rudder thing on my gondola from the rrimagined project.
This week I worked more on my gondola. I glazed it and found a new idea for the rudder. I’m gonna try making it out of wood pieces so it looks more real. I tried putting streaks of a pale colored glaze onto the side of the boat and the paddle to make it look like the streaks on wood.
This week I have been continuing my gondola. I have found that my clay has been drying very quickly each day so I don’t have too much time to use the clay before it dries. I added a bench to the interior and created a paddle. I also tried making a rudder but it dried out so fast that it broke in half when I tried moving it. I think I am going to try making it again out of wood after my piece is fired to get the right dimensions. I was going to try carving part of the scenery from Capriccio: The Rialto Bridge onto the side of the boat but I felt that it could jeopardize my piece because it is so dry, so I decided against it.
I am working on the reinterpretation project. The piece I chose to reinterpret is Capriccio: The Rialto Bridge and The Church of S. Giorgio Maggiore by Canaletto. I am making a gondola from the piece. I am going to add more but I’m not sure what yet.
