1. I was inspired because I thought the piece was very beautiful. I just liked looking at it and when I was looking through the art book, this was the first piece to catch my eye.
2. The piece is called Capriccio: The Rialto Bridge and The Church of S. Giorgio Maggiore by Canaletto. The medium is painting. 3. First I made slabs out of clay. I cut them into a rectangle to bend into the boat and cut a rudder, a bench, and a paddle. I slipped and scored the bench to stay in place and curved my rectangular slab into a boat. When it came out of the kiln, the rudder cracked in half. I glazed the paddle and the boat. I remade the rudder out of wooden pieces and glued it together with wood glue. I hot glued the rudder to the boat.

1. First, I had to find an idea. I wasted a lot of time because I couldn’t think of what to do for the project. After inspiration finally hit, I used cardboard to cut out the shape of ears and build a foundation for the trunk. I used an empty aluminum foil roll to make the tusks. After I had all my pieces together, I glued the tusks and the ears to the clock using hot glue. I paper mache’d the outside of the trunk, the tusks, and the ears with newspaper. After that dried, I started painting the ears, the trunk and the outside of the clock gray, and I painted the tusks white. I added dark gray details to the ears and the trunk and painted on nostrils. Then, I used a glass etcher to be able to glue my trunk to the glass of the clock face.
2. I picked this object because one day, I went around my house looking for useless items. This clock has been hanging in my house for 17 years and I have not seen it work once. My dad told me he bought it in his first apartment because the wood on the outside of the clock was wooden and matched the rest of his furniture. I was inspired by some of the other pieces that people were making in class. I restarted my underglaze piece. unfortunately, it cracked again. I don’t have the time to redo it again so I am going to keep powering through with the crack. I’ll glue it when it comes out of the kiln.
This week I finished painting my object to art piece. I finished painting the details and glued the trunk on. I continued working on my spoon crown which I am almost done with. I have had many troubles with my underglaze project. My first attempt shattered. The second attempt shattered aswell, but I was too frustrated to take a picture.
This week I worked on my repitition project. I am making a crown out of plastic spoons. It’s a struggle because I am using hot glue to attatch them, but the plastic melts because the glue is so hot. The picture is bad because I’m in it but I didn’t remember to take a picture of the piece itself at that point. I also finished the rudder of my boat.
This week I found a material to use for my repitition project. I am going to use plastic spoons. I’m not sure what I’m going to make yet. I also started painting my object to art piece. I am going to add details to it next week but I like the color so far and I think it is going well.
This week I worked on my object to art project some more. I started paper macheing the ears I cut out and made a trunk and tusks to also start paper macheing. I am using glue and water instead of flour and water because the I think the glue and water is easier to work with
